			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">The Central Algoma Rural Healthcare Steering Committee, the North East Local Health Integration Network and LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services have made an interim arrangement for patients requiring medical laboratory services while a more permanent solution is found.  <strong>This Interim Service will begin on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This service will be limited to patients who:</p>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;">are NOT registered patients of the Sault Area Hospital, and</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">are NOT registered patients with the medical clinics on St. Joseph Island, in Bruce Mines or in Thessalon, and</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">cannot easily access the LifeLabs Patient Service Centres located in Sault Ste. Marie.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;">The service will be provided to patients as follows:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Wednesdays from 7:00 a.m. &#8211; 8:00 a.m. at Algoma Manor in Thessalon</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. &#8211; 10:00 a.m. at Dr. H.S. Trefry Memorial Centre,<br />
Richards Landing</p>

The consultants, Mr. George Schrijver of WCM Consulting Inc. and Mr. Greg Bender of MMM Group, are in the process of contacting key Stakeholders who may be able to develop ideas and then become Champions of the initiatives when the plans are implemented.  Based upon this input, a draft Economic Development Strategic Plan will be created. In late January the consultants will present the key aspects of this to Council and then to the Community in February for critique and enhancement.  Final release is expected before the end of March.</p>
