Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors Available

As part of the Huron Shores Fire Department’s Community Fire Safety Awareness Program, Smoke and Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors are available for purchase to members of the public at the Municipal Office (7 Bridge Street, Iron Bridge), during regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Quantities are limited and prices are as follows:

Smoke Alarm with Hush Button $7.00
Basic CO Detector (battery operated) $18.00
Talking Combination CO/Smoke Alarm with Hush Button (battery operated) $26.00

All units incorporate ionization technology allowing sensitivity to fast flaming fires and have a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty.

The Fire Department recommends that CO units be replaced every 7 years, Smoke Alarms every 10 years.  All units should be tested monthly.  Please refer to the Fire Department page of this web site (Government/Services/Fire Department) for other fire safety information.
