July 23: Household Hazardous Waste Day

Get rid of your household hazardous waste!  The Municipality of Huron Shores is participating in the Household Hazardous Waste Day, Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Blind River Travel Information Centre parking lot, located at 243 Causley Street, off Highway 17 next to the Timber Village Museum.    Please click on the image of the event flyer to enlarge it in order to view the details of accepted items.  This is for residential hazardous waste only;  commercially generated hazardous waste will NOT be accepted.  For more information, contact the Town of Blind River at 705-356-2251.

In addition, please note that Residents and Ratepayers of Huron Shores may drop off Household Hazardous Waste at the Sault Ste. Marie Household Hazardous Waste Depot free of charge.  The Hazardous Waste Depot is located at the City Landfill at 402 Fifth Line East.

The Hazardous Waste Depot 2016 Hours of Operation  are:
Tuesday to Saturday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (June 7, 2016 to October 31, 2016)
Monday to Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (November 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017)
Note: During the closed season, please keep your household hazardous waste items for proper disposal at one of the City’s event days scheduled periodically through the off-season.  Please click here  to visit the City of Sault Ste. Marie’s webpage for a list of acceptable and unacceptable items.
