This assessment identified high-risk flood areas within the Municipality and provides recommendations for continued studies in flood mapping and mitigation under the Government of Canada’s Natural Disaster Mitigation Program (NDMP). The NDMP was established to reduce the impacts of natural disasters such as floods on Canadians.  \n Join Us Online and Learn More\nWe invite you to join us online to learn more about the results of this project. The presentation will include a project overview\, a description of the work completed\, a discussion of project results\, and provide an opportunity to submit questions. DESCRIPTION:Every Thursday beginning on August 9\, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 pm at the Iron Bridge Recreation Centre.  Hosted by the Iron Bridge Recreation Committee. \nFee by donation. Families are all welcomed to come! There will be toys for children to play with\, or they can join the walking group. There will be fitness tracker sheets available; a prize will be awarded for the most active participant. \nBenefits of walking:\nEvery minute of walking can extend your life by 1.5-2 minutes.\nIncreases physical activity.\nLowers obesity rates.\nLower risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes\, stroke and heart disease.\nReduces stress and depression.

DESCRIPTION:In mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II\, the Thessalon Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be laying a wreath\, sounding the Last Post and observing a moment of silence at the Iron Bridge Cenotaph. The Municipal Office doors will be locked for approximately 30 minutes (10:50am to 11:20am) to allow staff to attend the ceremony. \nCanadians who wish to honour Her Majesty are invited to extend their condolences in the online Books of Condolences.
