DESCRIPTION:The East Algoma OPP will be host to the Ontario Provincial Police Golden Helmets Motorcycle Precision Team.  The team was formed in 1963 and every year they tour the Province of Ontario giving exhibitions of superb riding skills. \nThe 20-member team\, comprised of OPP officers on regular patrol duties\, consists of the Ride Master\, Commentator\, the motorcycle technician and 17 riders.  Each team member must have successfully completed a three week motorcycle course and at least one season on motorcycle patrol. \nThe motorcycles used by the Golden Helmets are Harley Davidson Police Specials.  They have 1690 c.c. engines and weigh 800 pounds.  These motorcycles are the same ones used on normal patrol. \nThe two performances scheduled are: \n\nFriday\, September 11\, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. on Main Street in Thessalon\nSaturday\, September 12\, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. on Marks Street in Hilton Beach\n\n“During the 30 minute performance the riders will take their machines through a series of complex patterns\, demonstrating the maneuverability of the machines and the riders’ skills. SUMMARY:Public Meeting - New Zoning By-law
DESCRIPTION:The Municipality of Huron Shores has prepared a Draft Comprehensive Zoning By-law that sets out land use regulations for all lands within the boundaries of the Municipality.  Prior to Council passing a zoning by-law\, under the Planning Act\, public meetings must be advertised and held in order to inform and receive comments from the public.  This Public Meeting\, being held on Wednesday\, October 7th\, at 7:00 p.m.\, Sowerby Hall\, is for Council to hear representations and the Final Draft of the By-law may be passed after this Public Meeting.  An Open House to inform the public about the new Zoning By-law was held Wednesday\, September 30th\, at Sowerby Hall.  Please click on the link below to visit the Planning Department page and view the Draft By-law and maps. \nThe Agenda for the Public Meeting was posted Monday\, October 5th\, 2015.  Please click here to view the Agenda post.
