SUMMARY:Thessalon Community Days
DESCRIPTION:Thessalon Community Days’ theme this year is Mardis Gras 2016 and runs from Thursday and Friday evenings through the long weekend. The family baseball tournament runs continuously until Monday\, August 1st at Lakeside Park. \nThursday activities include\, beginning at 6:00 p.m.: the Northern Credit Union Thessalon Delegates Car & Bike Show on Main Street\, as well as duck & calendar sales\, food booth by the bantam curlers\, music by Northbound 35\, crown & anchor\, face painting\, heritage display by the Thessalon Township Heritage Association\,  and Eric the Juggler.  At dusk at Lakeside Park the Fire Department hosts the family movie\, Zootopia. \nFriday\, July 29th\, at 4:00 p.m.:  Grill-em Food Truck will be at Lakeside Park for the weekend.  From 6:00-9:00 p.m.\, Wing Nite at the Thessalon Curling Club:  Adults $15\, 12 years & under $7.50.  From:  6:30 p.m. at the Thessalon Marina:  food\, pony rides\, glow sticks\, face painting\, Eric the Juggler\, tarot card readings\, and the balloon man.  7:00 p.m.:  at the Marina\, live music by Redline.  10:00 p.m.:  Fire works\, also at the Marina.  Baseball tournament continues at Lakeside Park. \nSaturday\, July 30th:  Downtown Main Street Events:  11:00 a.m. street vendors and food booth\, 12:30 p.m. Parade Registration;  1:00 p.m. Parade.  After the Parade the Rebekah’s Cafe is open at the Oddfellows Hall for pie & ice cream with tea/coffee\, $5.00/person; the Lions Den opens at the Thessalon Arena; Bible Chapel hosts face painting\, outside games\, cotton candy\, balloon man; The Thessalon Events Committee sponsors Eric the Juggler & balloon lady\, plinko\, fish pond; Live music by J.C.; The Curling Club hosts Crown & Anchor; in the evening the Lions Club hosts a dance at the Thessalon Arena featuring the band Redline.  Baseball tournament continues at Lakeside Park. \nSunday\, July 31st:  Thessalon Legion Pancake Breakfast\, $10/Adult\, $5/child\, 5 years & under are free. 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Baseball tournament continues at Lakeside Park. \nMonday\, August 1st:  Ball Field Plaque Presentation (after last game) at Lakeside Park.  Don’t miss the annual Country Fair & Silent Auction\, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) at the Heritage Park Museum in Little Rapids sponsored by the Thessalon Township Heritage Association.
