The following parks and facilities are freely available to all residents or travelers passing through the Municipality. In order to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of these parks for your fellow users please obey the posted signage: no overnight camping; keep your pets leashed and collect their droppings; and DO NOT dispose of fish entrails in the waste bins. MacBeth Bay Boat Launch – 41 Emily Court
MacBeth Bay Boat Launch, 41 Emily Court (Approx. 5 kms West of Thessalon, take Jarrett Drive south, off Highway 17)
This new public boat launch, ideal for canoes and kayaks, provides access to Lake Huron seasonally from May to October. A parking area is provided for day-trippers.

Little Basswood Boat Launch

This park is located just a few minutes’ drive from the Sowerby Hall and the Historic Cordukes/Weber 12-Sided Barn. Recent upgrades include separate entrances to access the swimming/beach area and the newly refurbished boat launch. Amenities include picnic tables, portable toilet facilities (from Victoria Day weekend to mid-September), and bear-proof waste disposal bins.
Roe Park & Boat Launch, 779 Sunset Beach Road
Located on the northeast shore of Bright Lake this park is a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts. Amenities include portable toilet facilities (from Victoria Day weekend to mid-September), bear-proof waste disposal bins, park benches, a picnic table for snacks, and for the children, a swing-set, and rocker horse.
Centennial Park & Boat Launch, 52 Mississagi Crescent, Iron Bridge
The boat launch provides access to the Mississagi River in the heart of the Village of Iron Bridge. Explore the river in your canoe, kayak or outboard. Amenities include picnic tables, portable toilet facilities (from Victoria Day Weekend to mid-September) and bear-proof waste disposal bins. A great place for a picnic lunch.
Tally Ho Park and Cenotaph, 3 Main Street, Iron Bridge
Learn how Iron Bridge got its name with a stop at this convenient rest stop. Visit the Park in June and enjoy the fragrant 100+ year old lilac trees. For the hiking enthusiast, gain access here to the TransCanada Trail and Voyageur Trail or just stretch your legs with a leisurely walk on Veterans’ Bridge, a recreation bridge that spans the Mississagi River. The Cenotaph pays tribute to area veterans who participated in the two world wars. A gazebo with picnic tables provides a shady place to share a picnic meal or snack; a public washroom is available at the nearby municipal complex during regular office hours.
Lions Club Ball Park and District A-5 Memorial Forest, 2 Northern Avenue, Iron Bridge
This public park is administered by the Iron Bridge Lions Club. There is a children’s playground area and basketball court. The ball park plays host to the annual Iron Bridge Lions Club Community Days and Family Baseball Tournament each August. Beharriell Park & Boat Launch, 1236A Dean Lake Road
This municipal Boat Launch, located in the former Thompson Township, provides seasonal access to Lake Huron in the heart of the Mississagi Delta Provincial Nature Reserve. Picnic tables, bear-proof waste bins, and portable toilet facilities (from Victoria Day Weekend to mid-September) are available to picnickers and day-trippers.
