🔊 Noise Control Advisory The Municipality of Huron Shores reminds residents and visitors that the Noise Control By-law is in place to help protect the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of our community. 🚫 Prohibited Noise At All Times Racing motorized vehicles outside of regulated events Squealing tires Operating vehicles, equipment, or trailers without effective mufflers or proper maintenance Use of loud electronic devices disturbing others Persistent noise caused by domestic pets Between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Shouting, yelling, singing, or loud abusive language Use of engines, power tools, or construction equipment (except in emergencies) Loading/unloading of materials, except for essential services Operating toys or models with combustion engines 🏠 Property Owner/Occupier Responsibility Owners, tenants, and occupiers are responsible for ensuring noise created on their property (including by guests) complies with the by-law. ✅ Exemptions The following activities are generally exempt from the by-law: Agricultural operations Community festivals and events Municipal road maintenance, emergency vehicle sirens, and snow clearing Church and community bells Exemption requests for other activities must be submitted at least 60 days in advance for Council’s consideration. ⚖️ Offences & Penalties Failure to comply with the Noise Control By-law is an offence under the Provincial Offences Act and may result in fines. Standard Fine: $125.00 per offence, including but not limited to: Racing a motorized vehicle Squealing tires Operating without effective mufflers Excessive pet noise Disturbing noise during prohibited hours (shouting, whistling, construction, etc.)
