Public Notice – April 9, 2020 SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE: The Council of the Municipality of Huron Shores will hold a Special Electronic Meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. to review Municipal tax due dates and the application of penalty and interest. We understand the stress that the COVID-19 Pandemic is placing on families in our community and will be assessing if adjustments can be made to relieve financial pressure now such that it will not unduly burden our taxpayers when the crisis has passed. SHELTER IN PLACE: With Easter weekend upon us, it is critical that everyone continue to practice social and physical distancing and that all in-house celebrations be with those that reside in your home only. Please, do not accept visitors. Limit your outings for purchases, to essential items only such as, groceries and prescriptions. If you are in self-isolation or are vulnerable, and do not have family or friends nearby to assist in deliveries, please call Clerk/Administrator Tonelli at 705-542-5528 for assistance. GOING OUTDOORS: We have received concerns from folks regarding the ability to go outside. Please know that it is O.K. and important for your physical health and mental well-being to get outside for some fresh air but, there are parameters as per below. Feel free to spend time outside if you: Are only with people from your household (no additional friends or family members) Have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 Do not have symptoms of COVID-19 Have not travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days Can maintain a 2-metre distance from individuals that you may encounter. If you are self-isolating because you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, you should not be leaving the house until you are given the clear from health care providers. If you are self-isolating because you have been outside of Canada within the last 14 days but have no symptoms, you need to stay in a private place like your yard or balcony if you go outside. Council and Staff wish you a Happy Easter. Stay strong, stay compassionate, stay safe.
