Draft Environmental Assessment for the Shaw Dam Project – Available for Review The Municipality has been requested to post the following information from SNC-Lavalin, the engineering firm contracted by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry (MNRF), with respect to the Shaw Dam: “SNC-Lavalin Inc. (SLI) has been retained by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry (MNRF) to conduct a Category C Class Environmental Assessment (EA) under MNRF’s Class Environmental assessment for Resource Stewardship and Facility Development projects. This process fulfills the requirements of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.” The Draft Environmental Assessment for the Shaw Dam Project is available for public review at the Huron Shores Municipal Office until January 26th, 2019. The Shaw Dam is located within the District of Algoma, approximately 10 km north of Thessalon in the northeastern portion of the Kirkwood Township (now the Municipality of Huron Shores) in Ontario.
