Fire Ban in Effect – July 31, 2025 Huron Shores Fire Chief Henk VanDelft has imposed a Fire Ban for the Municipality of Huron Shores, effective Thursday, July 31, 2025. Please be advised: 🚫 Open Air Burning and Fireworks are strictly prohibited while the Fire Ban is in effect.✅ Small, contained fires for cooking and/or warmth are still permitted. Under the ban, “campfires” are defined as: A small, contained fire no greater than 1 metre in diameter Flame height not exceeding 1 metre This does not include large bonfires or brush fires While Open Air Burning Permits are not required for campfires (as defined under By-law #23-25), the Fire Department strongly urges residents and visitors to use extreme caution: ✔️ Always have an adequate water supply and tools on hand✔️ Never leave a fire unattended✔️ Ensure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving❗If the Fire Department is required to respond to an incident caused by a campfire, charges may be imposed For full details on fire bans and campfire guidelines, including the General Conditions for Compliance for Cooking or Warmth, visit our Fire Department page or contact the Municipal Office at 705-843-2033.
