Fire Ban Lifted in Huron Shores The Huron Shores Fire Department has lifted the Fire Ban originally imposed on June 20th, 2016. Open Air Burning (burning of brush, grass, debris) may only be conducted with a valid permit. Permits are available at the Municipal Office in Iron Bridge from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; the Fee is $5.00. For more information respecting Open Air Burning, Fire Bans, and penalties for infraction of the By-law, contact the Municipal Office (705-843-2033) or visit the Fire Department page. Property owners are not required to purchase a Burning Permit in order to have a “campfire”. Under the Huron Shores Open Air Burning By-law, small, contained fires, i.e. “campfires”, ARE permitted for cooking and/or warmth, even under the conditions of a Fire Ban. Campfires are defined as being no more than 1 metre in diameter and the flames must be no higher than 1 metre — this does not include a large bonfire or brush fire.
