For Students Aged 19-25: IMPACT! Sustainability Champions Training in Guelph! The Co-operators and The Natural Step Canada are partnering to offer the IMPACT! Sustainability Champions Training in Guelph! This 4-month program for students aged 19-25 focuses on realizing the leadership potential of youth and helping them develop meaningful sustainability projects in the community. Participants will build their sustainability leadership, competence, confidence, and communication skills. They will be empowered to translate their passion into action to deliver positive change within their widening sphere of influence in the community. The program is anchored by a 2-day in-person workshop taking place November 9-10, 2012. Following the training, each participant will develop and implement a local sustainability project that will help transform and better their community. Participants receive top-notch training, leading project development tools, and mentorship and support for 4 months following the workshop to ensure their community projects have the highest chance of success. Participants will also have exclusive access to apply for financial support from The Co-operators’ IMPACT! Fund to seed their projects. The highly-subsidized participant cost is only a $50 commitment fee, and entrance fee bursaries are available based on need. To ensure a quality learning environment, participation is limited and the deadline for applications is September 30, 2012.
