Healthy Kids Community Challenge Message of the Week Reminder: Choose to Boost with Veggies and Fruit! The North Channel Healthy Kids Community Challenge is supporting the Good Food Box program and encouraging families with children 12 and under to participate. Healthy Kids Community Challenge will pay 50% of the cost from August to December 2017 (usual cost is $20, less 50% = $10 cost/family with children 12 and under). The Good Food Box is a brimming box of fresh fruits and vegetables delivered to you during the 3rd week of every month. The Good Food Box program is open to everyone, with or without children. It supports local and Ontario farmers and is a fundraiser for the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen. To order a Good Food Box or for more information contact your municipal office, Thessalon First Nation Health Centre or Blind River Best Start Hub. For the Iron Bridge area call 705-843-2033, or stop in at the Municipal Office at 7 Bridge St. For residents/ratepayers in the western end of the Municipality, please contact Betty Ann at Child Care Algoma – Thessalon Site (Primary School) at 705-842-5454. You must pay your $10 share at the time you sign up. The Food Boxes will be delivered to the Iron Bridge Lions Club Hall, 10 Clarissa Street or the Thessalon Child Care Algoma site, depending on where you register. Important dates to remember: Sign up by October 11th for pick up on the 19th. Sign up by November 15th for pick up on the 23rd. Sign up by December 13th for pick up on the 21st.
