Environment Canada has issued a continued Heat Warning for our region today, with humidex values reaching up to 41°C. A cold front is expected tonight, bringing some relief — but this may be just one of many unpredictable weather events we face this summer.

☀️ What to do:

  • Plan outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
  • Stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity in peak heat.
  • Wear light-coloured, loose clothing and a wide-brimmed hat.
  • Never leave children, pets, or anyone in a parked vehicle.
  • Watch for signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, nausea, headache, fatigue, dark urine.
  • Heat stroke is a medical emergency — call 911 if someone shows signs of confusion, red/hot skin, or loss of consciousness.

👥 Let’s look out for one another:
Check in on older adults, those living alone, and anyone who may be vulnerable — even a quick phone call can make a big difference.
