Huron Shores Raises the Flag for the Legion Poppy Campaign Thessalon Royal Canadian Legion Branch 182 members Alex (Tex) Lammle and Ed Pigeau, assisted by Huron Shores Mayor Gil Reeves, raised the Poppy Flag to mark the start of the Legion’s Annual Poppy Campaign. Every year, from the last Friday of October to November 11, tens of millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to honour Canada’s Veterans and remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. While the Poppy is distributed freely to all who wish to wear one, the Legion gratefully accepts donations to the Poppy Fund. On Remembrance Day, please consider attending a service in your community. In the photos below, Alex Lammle pins a poppy on Mayor Reeves in the Council Chambers and is joined by Ed Pigeau. Later they attended the Iron Bridge Cenotaph to raise the Poppy Campaign Flag. Mayor Reeves & Legion Member Alex Lammle Ed Pigeau, Mayor Reeves & Alex Lammle Raising the Poppy Campaign Flag
