Friday, July 19th, 2013: Huron Shores LIFTS Fire Ban Effective Friday, July 19th, 2013, the Municipality of Huron Shores has LIFTED the Fire Ban originally imposed on July 15th. Open Air Burning Permits may be purchased at the Municipal Office for $5.00. Permits may also be obtained at the Fire Station 1 Office Building (former Thessalon Township Municipal Office) located at 69 Little Rapids Road, next to the Fire Hall, in Little Rapids on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to Noon only. Permits are valid for 2 weeks and are ONLY renewable (at no extra cost) via telephone (705-843-2033) OR in person at the Municipal Office (bring the permit with you). You MUST quote the Permit Number and the Responding Fire Station in order for your permit to be renewed for a further 2-week period. The Fire Department reminds everyone to exercise caution when burning, adhere to the regulations on the permit, and that NO DAYTIME BURNING IS PERMITTED.
