Join the movement on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 and #ActONLitter – because a little effort makes a big difference!

Each year, communities across Ontario roll up their sleeves for the Provincial Day of Action on Litter – and we want YOU to be part of it! Whether you’re hitting the trails, tidying up your street, or rallying your classmates, every bit of litter you collect helps protect our local environment and wildlife. 🌎💚

Litter might seem small, but it adds up fast — polluting our waterways, harming wildlife, and taking away from the natural beauty of our towns and green spaces. The good news? Cleaning it up is simple, impactful, and even fun — especially when we do it together.

Here’s how to get involved:

🧤 1. Plan your cleanup!
Choose a local area in need of a little love — whether it’s a roadside, riverbank, playground, or trail. You can do it solo, with your family, or organize a group event with friends, coworkers, or classmates.

📘 2. Use the Province’s helpful cleanup guides
Ontario has created step-by-step guides full of safety tips, ideas, and best practices:

📸 3. Share your success!
Snap a few photos and post your cleanup on social media using #ActONLitter to spread awareness and encourage others to join the cause. Bonus points for before-and-after shots!

📋 4. Let the Province know!
Report your cleanup effort using the official Litter Cleanup Reporting Form to help track progress across Ontario.

💬 Why does this matter?
Because cleaner streets, trails, and waterways mean healthier communities and a brighter future for everyone. It’s a chance to teach our kids about stewardship, show pride in our municipality, and connect with neighbours for a shared purpose.

🌟 Whether you pick up one bag or ten, your efforts matter.
Let’s show the rest of the province that Huron Shores cares — and that we’re committed to keeping our community clean, green, and thriving.
