Open Air Burning Permits – Now Available at Fire Station 1 New for the 2012 Open Air Burning Season, the Huron Shores Fire Department will now issue Burning Permits at Fire Station 1 in Little Rapids on Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to Noon only. This is for the convenience of those Huron Shores residents living in the western portion of the Municipality. Permits will continue to be issued at the Municipal Office, during regular office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A Permit costs $5.00 and is valid for two (2) weeks. Permits will not be renewed at the Fire Station. Permits may only be renewed either in person at the Municipal Office in Iron Bridge or via telephone to the office: 705-843-2033. If renewing in person at the Office, don’t forget to bring the permit with you. Renewal is free and for a period of a further two (2) weeks. However when a Fire Ban is in effect, no permits will be issued or renewed. The Fire Department wishes to remind you that DAYTIME BURNING IS NOT PERMITTED.
