Issued by the Municipality of Huron Shores
April 22, 2025

Residents are advised that the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is increasing outflow from the Basswood Lake Dam to manage upstream water levels.

As a result, downstream water levels in Bright Lake and the Bolton River may rise. When combined with already elevated levels in the Mississagi River, this could lead to localized flooding along the Bolton River and in low-lying areas.

Residents in affected areas are encouraged to:

  • Monitor shorelines and low-lying properties
  • Secure docks, boats, and outdoor equipment
  • Ensure sump pumps and drainage systems are functioning
  • Use caution around fast-moving water and flooded areas

The Municipality is monitoring conditions closely and will provide updates as needed.

For more information or to report flooding concerns, please contact the Municipal Office at 705-843-2033, or email@huronshores.ca.

Thank you for your cooperation.
