Effective: October 24th, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Reason:
Culvert failure causing roadway washout and unsafe conditions.

The Municipality of Huron Shores has closed Dayton Road between Cullis Road and Maple Ridge Road due to a culvert failure and washout. The road is unsafe for all traffic. Barriers and signage are in place; do not move or drive around barricades.

What this means for you

  • Detour: Use Maple Ridge and Township Line Road. Allow extra travel time.
  • Local access: Properties north of the washout remain accessible from Cullis Road only. No through traffic past the closure.
  • Timeline: Engineers will be assessing the site and replacement options. We’ll share an estimated timeline once confirmed.

  • Updates will be posted at huronshores.ca and on the Municipality Facebook page.
