UPDATE September 24, 2015: Midway Bridge Open The traveling public is advised that Midway Bridge is now open. Consulting engineer Matt Kirby, P. Eng., of Tulloch Engineering Inc. has advised that the weight limit restriction be lowered from 10 tonnes to 5 tonnes. Accordingly, at the September 23rd, 2015, Regular Meeting, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Huron Shores passed By-law #15-51 to amend the weight limit restriction of Midway Bridge to 5 tonnes. Appropriate signage has been ordered and will be installed by Public Works. Please watch for further updates. Original notice posted September 15, 2015: The traveling public is advised that effective immediately and until further notice Midway Bridge is CLOSED to vehicular traffic and recreational vehicles. The Bridge, located on Sherwood Road in the former Township of Thessalon, is currently being assessed for repairs. Alternate routes around the bridge closure are at Nestorville Road and River Road on the west side, and Highway 129 on the east side.
