We are pleased to announce that the Ward 2 Waste Disposal Site (473 Cullis Road) will now be accepting bulk items and brush. The transfer bins, which have been a success, will continue to be in place. We have carefully considered the concerns of our residents, and this new addition aims to further meet your needs.

At the August 14, 2024, Regular Council Meeting, the following motion was passed:

“WHEREAS the Ward 2 Landfill Site (473 Cullis Road) transitioned from a traditional landfill to a transfer station effective May 1st, 2024, as part of a 3-month Pilot Program;

AND WHEREAS the pilot program has come to an end, resulting in a cleaner site and requiring less operator time, demonstrating operational efficiency and environmental benefits;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves the continued placement of the additional 8 bins at the Ward 2 Transfer Station, with servicing to occur once per week;

AND THAT bulk items and brush continue to be accepted at the Ward 2 waste disposal site until such time as a decision is made on the recommendations of the Long-Term Waste Management Plan.”

Please ensure that all materials are sorted appropriately before disposal. For more information on acceptable items and site hours, please contact our office at 705-843-2033 or visit our Waste Disposal and Recycling Services Page.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and feedback!
