The Public Works Department provides the following services for the Municipality:
- Road Maintenance
- Huron Shores consists of 236.7km of road, 475 lane kilometres (lane kilometres are the lanes of a road)
- Winter: 375 km of lanes are maintained – snow removal, plowing, sanding, culvert thawing, ice scarifying
- Seasonal: grading, ditching, pavement and gravel patching, surface treatment, dust control, roadside brushing, road signs, erosion control and flood control
- Huron Shores consists of 236.7km of road, 475 lane kilometres (lane kilometres are the lanes of a road)
- Road construction and patrolling
- Bridge and culvert maintenance
- Municipal equipment service and maintenance
- Municipal drains
- Landfill maintenance for 4 sites and oversight of the Municipal Recycling Program
- Parks and Recreation
- Providing maintenance assistance to Municipal cemeteries
