The Municipality’s Deputy Clerk recently attended the Ontario Association of Committees of Adjustment & Consent Authorities (OACA) conference in Ottawa as part of ongoing professional development in planning and land use matters.

With the Municipality’s recently approved Comprehensive Zoning By-law, opportunities like this complement the work already underway by helping staff stay current on legislation, emerging planning trends, and best practices. Together, these efforts help us better support residents, businesses, and development in Huron Shores.

The updated Comprehensive Zoning By-law includes expanded permitted uses, additional housing opportunities such as Additional Dwelling Units (ADUs), increased flexibility for farm-related uses, and a range of other updates intended to support responsible growth and investment in our community.

Ongoing learning and collaboration help ensure we can continue providing informed guidance and support to residents looking to build, develop, and invest in Huron Shores.

A thank you to the OACA organizers, presenters, and participating municipalities for the time and effort invested in sharing knowledge, experience, and best practices that benefit communities across Ontario.
