Health and Medical Services Huron Shores residents have access to a range of local and regional health care providers and medical services, including: Huron Shores Family Health Team North Shore Health Network Mental Health and Addictions Community mental health programs and addiction supports are available: Algoma Public Health Counselling Centre of East Algoma Housing and Income Supports The Municipality offers a Property Tax Assistance Program for eligible low-income seniors and low-income persons with disabilities. Contact the Municipal Office for eligibility requirements and application information. Housing stability, income support, and other community assistance programs are available through the Algoma District Services Administration Board (ADSAB). Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services provides affordable housing opportunities, including homes located in Iron Bridge. Food and Basic Needs Visit our page dedicated to Food Access and Grocery Services for Food banks and community food programs operate in Iron Bridge and surrounding communities. Huron Shores offers a grocery pick-up from Thessalon for residents who are unable to travel. Please contact the Municipal Office for further information. The Community Safety and Well-Being Plan helps identify local priorities and strengthens partnerships that support the health, safety, and well-being of our residents. The updated Plan will: • Identify local community needs and priorities.• Strengthen partnerships with community agencies and service providers.• Support prevention-focused and collaborative initiatives.• Improve coordination of services and community resources.• Help guide future actions that enhance the quality of life for residents. Residents and community partners will have opportunities to provide input throughout the update process.
