NOTICE OF ELECTION INFORMATION

MUNICIPAL ELECTORS OF THE
MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES

Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Municipality of Huron Shores in the District of Algoma that whereas more candidates have been nominated to each of the following offices than the number required to fill such offices:

COUNCILLOR – WARD 3       Two (2) to be elected

COUNCILLOR – WARD 4       Two (2) to be elected

FRENCH LANGUAGE SEPARATE SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE –
(Conseil scolaire de district catholique du Nouvel-Ontario)
WARDS 1, 2, 3 & 4                One (1) to be elected
Voting will be held for Electors in the Municipality of Huron Shores as follows:

ADVANCE VOTING DAY:
Date:  Saturday, October 16, 2010
Time:  10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Huron Shores Municipal Office, Council Chambers

VOTING DAY:
Date:  Monday, October 25, 2010
Time:  10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Iron Bridge Lions Club Hall
10 Clarissa Street, Iron Bridge

PROOF OF IDENTITY AND RESIDENCE:
A person voting must present prescribed proof of identity and residence or complete an application in the prescribed form, including a statutory declaration that he or she is the elector shown on the voters’ list.

PROXY APPLICATIONS:
A person who has been appointed a voting proxy may apply to the Clerk during normal office hours or during the period from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on the day of the advance vote, to receive a certificate to vote by proxy for the polling subdivision in which the person appointing the voting proxy is entitled to vote. 
Proxy applications are available at the Municipal Office.
