Municipality of Huron Shores Strategic Plan & Recreation Master Plan

To coincide with the 25th Anniversary of The Municipality of Huron Shores. We are currently developing a Corporate Strategic Plan and a Recreation Master Plan!  The Strategic Plan will be a foundation document for Council with a five (5) year horizon. The Plan provides a vision, outlines key directions to shape the Municipality’s organization, programs and services.

The Recreation Master Plan (RMP) will guide the future directions in planning recreational facilities and services.  The RMP will assist the Municipality in guiding and managing the direction of parks, open spaces, facilities, and amenities in a cost effective and sustainable manner.  The RMP will also look at the renovation potential and future use of the Iron Bridge Recreation Centre. 

Sierra Planning and Management has been commissioned to develop the Strategic Plan and the Recreation Master Plan and will work in collaboration with WGD Architects on the Recreation Centre Future Use Plan.

The Strategic Plan and Recreation Master Plan will be developed through a variety of community engagement activities.  Over the course of the project the consulting team will engage a range of stakeholders such as community recreation committees, public, private, and not-for-profit agencies, as well as the public in identifying current needs, issues, and priorities for the corporation as a whole and more specifically as it relates to developing parks and recreation in the Municipality. 

The project will employ a range of means to gather public input, take the on online survey today and help us determine requirements for parks, open space, recreation facilities and services in the Municipality.
