Recycling Update in Huron Shores ♻️ Big improvements are coming to recycling in Huron Shores! 🙌 NEW — Starting January 1, 2026 Glass bottles and jars will be accepted in the recycling program! As part of a province-wide update through Circular Materials Ontario, our Blue Box recycling program is being modernized, making recycling easier, safer, and more efficient for everyone. 🟦 Important to know:✔️ Recycling is available at Municipal Waste Disposal Sites only❌ There is no curbside recycling🚫 Hazardous waste is not accepted ✅ Accepted Items 📄 Paper & Cardboard Newspapers, magazines & flyers Office & school paper (no wax or foil coating) Flattened cardboard & paperboard (cereal boxes, egg cartons) Paper laminate packaging Tubes Foam packaging Flexible plastic packaging Aerosol containers Aerosols with toxic, corrosive or flammable symbol are not accepted with the exception of cooking oil sprays and products designed for food; Hairsprays, cosmetics and products designed to be used on hair/skin Glass containers 🥫 Containers Plastic bottles & containers Aluminum & steel food and beverage cans Milk cartons & juice boxes (empty & rinsed) Paper laminate containers 🚫 Not Accepted Food waste or dirty containers Paint, propane tanks, chemicals Electronics, batteries, or lightbulbs Alcoholic beverage containers. ♻️ Helpful Tips Rinse containers Flatten cardboard Keep recyclables loose (no bags!)
