Glass bottles and jars will be accepted in the recycling program!

As part of a province-wide update through Circular Materials Ontario, our Blue Box recycling program is being modernized, making recycling easier, safer, and more efficient for everyone.

🟦 Important to know:
✔️ Recycling is available at Municipal Waste Disposal Sites only
❌ There is no curbside recycling
🚫 Hazardous waste is not accepted

✅ Accepted Items

📄 Paper & Cardboard

  • Newspapers, magazines & flyers
  • Office & school paper (no wax or foil coating)
  • Flattened cardboard & paperboard (cereal boxes, egg cartons)
  • Paper laminate packaging
  • Tubes
  • Foam packaging
  • Flexible plastic packaging
  • Aerosol containers
    •  Aerosols with toxic, corrosive or flammable symbol are not accepted with the exception of cooking oil sprays and products designed for food; Hairsprays, cosmetics and products designed to be used on hair/skin
  • Glass containers

🥫 Containers

  • Plastic bottles & containers
  • Aluminum & steel food and beverage cans
  • Milk cartons & juice boxes (empty & rinsed)
  • Paper laminate containers

🚫 Not Accepted

  • Food waste or dirty containers
  • Paint, propane tanks, chemicals
  • Electronics, batteries, or lightbulbs
  • Alcoholic beverage containers.

  • Rinse containers
  • Flatten cardboard
  • Keep recyclables loose (no bags!)
  • Sort before arriving at the depot
