Public Advisory – Open Air Burning Reminder 🔥🚒 Planning a fire? The Municipality of Huron Shores Fire Department is reminding residents to keep safety top of mind when enjoying open air burning. Before you strike a match, please remember: • Burns larger than a campfire must be called into the Municipal Office prior to ignition• No daytime burning is permitted• A valid burn permit is required for any fire larger than a campfire (1 metre in diameter)• All fires must be attended at all times and fully extinguished before leaving the area For more information, please review the Open Air Burning By-law. Fire permits can be obtained at the Municipal Office or online under the Forms and Permits page. These regulations are in place to protect residents, properties, and emergency responders. Weather conditions, including wind and dry conditions, can significantly increase the risk of fire spread, even during permitted burning hours. Let’s work together to keep our community safe while still enjoying the outdoors responsibly.
