Licence-Free Family Fishing: July 7-15, 2012 Ontario Family Fishing Events (formerly Ontario Family Fishing Weekend) is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. The Ontario Government designates two periods throughout the year as licence-free, the 3-day Family Day Weekend in February, and a full 9 days in July (7th-15th), which coincides with National Fishing Week. Head out on your own, bring a friend along and introduce them to fishing, or participate in a local event. Fishing festivals, clinics, derbies and workshops are hosted across the province. The Council of the Municipality of Huron Shores encourages you to explore the lakes and rivers of our own Municipality. Visit the Parks and Boat Launches page of this site for access points to various lakes, or the Business Directory for Fishing Camps, Bait and Tackle, and other related suppliers. In addition, the Ontario Family Fishing website lists events throughout the province: www.ontariofamilyfishing.com
