Clara’s Big Ride – June 26 in Blind River Olympian Clara Hughes will be in Blind River, Thursday, June 26th, 2014. A welcome event, including barbecue, bike rodeo, live entertainment and a Mental Health Symposium, is being held at the Blind River Community Centre from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Clara will speak at approximately 7:00 p.m. Funds raised will go towards supporting mental health initiatives in the community. Buses from area communities are available to bring people to the event. The schedule is as follows: Leaving Elliot Lake 4:30 (1 bus) and 5:30 p.m. (2 buses) from Lester B. Pearson Centre; Leaving Thessalon 4:30 p.m. (1 bus), Town Hall, Pick up Iron Bridge 5:00 p.m., Arena; Leaving Spanish 4:30 p.m. (1 bus), Vacant lot East of Farmers’ Market, Pick up Algoma Mills 5:00 p.m., Township of the North Shore Municipal Office.
