Public Works Home Your Government Departments Public Works The Public Works Department provides the following services for the Municipality: Road Maintenance Huron Shores consists of 236.7km of road, 475 lane kilometres (lane kilometres are the lanes of a road) Winter: 375 km of lanes are maintained – snow removal, plowing, sanding, culvert thawing, ice scarifying Seasonal: grading, ditching, pavement and gravel patching, surface treatment, dust control, roadside brushing, road signs, erosion control and flood control Road construction and patrolling Maintenance of a combination of 22 bridges and culverts Municipal equipment service and maintenance Municipal drains Landfill maintenance for 4 sites and oversight of the Municipal Recycling Program Parks and Recreation Providing maintenance assistance to Municipal cemeteries The Public Works Department is led by: Public Works Superintendentpublicworks@huronshores.ca Our Public Works consist of: 4 part-time Landfill Site Attendants 5 full-time Public Works Operators 3 stationed in Little Rapids – Ward 1 2 stationed in Iron Bridge – Ward 3 Public Works Equipment consists of: Unit #8-24 2024 Western Star 47X, Plow Unit4-24 2011 International 7600, Plow Unit6 2019 Western Star 4700SB, Plow Unit7-23 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD CC2 2018 Dodge Ram, ½ ton 4X41-23 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1LT11 USP Pipe/Trailer5 2007 Volvo Backhoe/Loader9 2017 John Deere Grader3 2013 John Deere Grader10 2013 Case Loader/Backhoe 2012 Packer with attachments 2020 4 Ton Hot Box & Controls
