Canada Post Address Changes – Resident Checklist

Canada Post has advised that address changes affecting certain residents in the Municipality of Huron Shores will take effect August 17, 2026.

The Municipality is working directly with Canada Post to confirm the affected addressing information and to ensure municipal records within our control are updated appropriately.
Residents affected by the change are encouraged to review the organizations and service providers that have their current address on file. Updating your address with one organization does not necessarily update it with others.

Resident Address Change Checklist

• ServiceOntario – driver’s licence, vehicle permit, health card, Ontario Photo Card and accessible parking permit. Ontario provides an online service that can update several of these records together.
• Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) – income tax, benefits and tax-credit information.
• Service Canada – if applicable, including CPP, OAS, EI, Canadian Dental Care Plan or other federal programs.
• Elections Canada / Elections Ontario – voter registration information.
• Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) – property owner mailing information.
• Banks and credit unions – bank accounts, credit cards, investments and loans.
• Insurance providers – home/property, automobile, life and other insurance.
• Utilities and telecommunications – hydro, telephone, internet, television and other accounts.
• Employer and pension/benefit providers.
• Health-care providers – family doctor, dentist, pharmacy, specialists, etc.
• Schools, colleges, universities or childcare providers, where applicable.
• Subscriptions, memberships and delivery accounts.
• Other businesses or organizations that regularly send you mail.

This checklist is provided as a general reference and may not include every organization you need to contact. Residents should review their own records and accounts to determine where their mailing address is currently used.
