Are you considering running for Council in the 2026 Municipal Election? This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the important role municipal elected officials play in shaping and supporting their communities.

Join us for an informative Candidate Information Session featuring Sarah Cormier from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, who will provide an overview of the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of elected officials. Municipal Clerks from participating communities will also be available to answer questions and assist with nomination applications.

Participating municipalities and townships include the Town of Blind River, Village of Hilton Beach, Hilton Township, Township of Laird, Municipality of Huron Shores, Johnson Township, Township of St. Joseph, Town of Thessalon, Township of Macdonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional, Township of the North Shore, Tarbutt Township, Town of Bruce Mines, Township of Jocelyn, and the Township of Plummer Additional.

Whether you are actively considering candidacy or simply interested in learning more about municipal government and the election process, all are welcome to attend.
