Canada Remembers the 75th Anniversary of D-Day & the Battle of Normandy
The following information was received from the Veterans Affairs Canada Learning Team:
“One of the most famous events of the Second World War took place on June 6, 1944, when some 14,000 Canadian soldiers came ashore at Juno Beach on D-Day as part of Operation Overlord. This June will mark the 75th anniversary of the massive Allied landings in Normandy, France, that signaled the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe.
Veterans Affairs Canada is pleased to offer a variety of free, bilingual print and online resources to help young people learn more about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
