Huron Shores is Buzzing with Summer Upgrades! While Public Works keeps things rolling, our parks and public spaces are getting their moment to shine — and it’s all thanks to some incredible community teamwork! Our new Facilities team member has been hard at work keeping everything trimmed, tidy, and looking fantastic. With summer just around the corner, here’s a look at what’s been happening behind the scenes: Huge thanks to Vernon Bailey for the beautiful flower donation – our green spaces have never looked brighter! CAFCA (Central Algoma Freshwater Coalition) is helping us go greener with newly planted trees across our parks. Scott Richards from Cockburn Island Logging generously donated the wood for our community gardens – supporting local food and fresh starts! We heard your feedback! Thanks to GFL, we now have an accessible washroom at Little Basswood – helping make our spaces more inclusive for everyone. New picnic tables, donated by Cameco, are ready for lakeside lunches, rest stops, and summer hangouts. Starting July 7, stop by the Iron Bridge Museum & Tourist Information Centre to meet our student summer worker and check out everything happening in the area! From fresh flowers and mowed grass to community gardens and improved accessibility, there’s a lot to be excited about. Summer in Huron Shores is just getting started — come out and enjoy it!
