January 13: Grand Opening of the Little Rapids Gazebo Ice Rink The Little Rapids Recreation Complex Committee will be hosting the Grand Opening of the outdoor ice rink at the Little Rapids Gazebo (located at 34 Little Rapids Road, approximately 5 minutes north of Thessalon off Hwy. 129) at Noon on Saturday, January 13/18. Skating is available all day and the canteen will be open to serve hot drinks. All are welcome! The rink will be available for free to the public every day, weather permitting. The Committee acknowledges the support of the North Channel Healthy Kids Community Challenge Program. It would also like to thank Midway Lumber Mills Ltd. and Birchland Plywood-Veneer Ltd. for donating the wood for the rink boards, and the Huron Shores Fire Department for flooding the ice.
