Iron Bridge Historical Museum, 1 James Street

Salute our area’s agricultural and pioneer history by visiting our farmers’ markets this Saturday, June 17th, in Sowerby and Iron Bridge.  The Iron Bridge Farmers’ Market kicks off its 2017 season from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Iron Bridge Historical Museum, 1 James Street.  Markets in Sowerby (12-Sided Barn, 1410 Basswood Lake Rd.) and Iron Bridge are held weekly until the end of September.  Both markets offer a selection of locally-grown produce and meat products, baked goods, preserves, handicrafts, and more.  The Museum is open daily until the end of September.  Amenities available for visitors’ comfort include picnic tables, benches and accessible public washrooms.

Stick around on Saturday for the 5th Annual Iron Bridge Music Fest from 2:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Iron Bridge Recreation Centre (1 Chiblow Lake Rd.)  Local guest artists include:  Robbie Shawana, Summer Thunder, Women in Song, Back Road Country, and Nostalgia Live.  Tickets at the door:  $25/person (Children under 12 Free) Refreshments available.  Licenced under LLBO.  The Iron Bridge Agricultural Society is the founding sponsor of this popular annual musical event held on the 3rd Saturday in June.  The Agricultural Society also co-sponsors the Biennial Quilt Show in partnership with the Huron Shores Quilters.  Both organizations help to pass on and celebrate the traditional handicrafts and arts for future generations.
