Temporary Road Closure
Temporary Road Closure

The traveling public is advised that a portion of Sunset Beach Road will be closed to through traffic beginning June 22nd for approximately 6 weeks between its intersection with Highway 17 and Watson Road.  This closure is necessary for road reconstruction and is part of the ongoing work to repair infrastructure damaged due to the September 2013 flood event.  In addition, prior to the scheduled June 22nd construction start date, the contractor will be moving heavy equipment to the work site in preparation for the project start.  Local residents and the traveling public are advised to drive cautiously and be watchful for large equipment and construction personnel on, and in the vicinity of this section of Sunset Beach Road in the coming weeks.

The Municipality thanks and appreciates the public for its understanding and patience while this necessary work progresses in the coming weeks.
