Huron Shores Community Gardens: Call for Volunteers With funding assistance from the North Channel Healthy Kids Community Challenge, the Municipality has established Community Gardens in Little Rapids and Iron Bridge. If you’re interested in growing healthy food for your community’s use, please contact Patricia Wynter at 705-255-3441 to volunteer to tend the Little Rapids Community Garden (4 Little Rapids Rd., Thessalon Township Community Centre). For the Iron Bridge Community Garden (1 Chiblow Lake Rd., Iron Bridge Recreation Centre), please contact the Municipal Office at 705-843-2033. All garden tools and gloves will be provided. Ms. Wynter has advised that last week the Little Rapids Garden was able to donate kale, swiss chard, radishes, and green onions to the Thessalon Food Bank. The Garden and its produce are available for the use of the community.
