Recently the Municipality of Huron Shores, under its Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), sponsored a contest to choose a new slogan for the Municipality.  The contest was open to all members of the public.  The EDAC forwarded to Council its recommendations from the entries received and formal approved was granted at the June 8th, 2016 Regular Meeting of Council.

The new slogan is “Storied past, promising future” submitted by Mr. Andrew MacKay.  “Storied past, promising future” will be included in all of the Municipality’s promotional material and on its website, huronshores.ca.  Council also approved the use of the slogan “Can’t Wait to Get There!!” from Mr. Henk VanDelft to be used on promotional items.  Both contest winners received cheques for $100.00.  Mr. MacKay and Mr. VanDelft are both Ward 1 residents of Huron Shores.

Council, the EDAC, and staff thank everyone who submitted entries for the slogan contest.  Council supports civic engagement and welcomes input from residents and ratepayers that would improve and enhance the communities of Huron Shores.

Shown in the photos of the cheque presentations are Councillor Dale Wedgwood, EDAC Chair, contest winners Mr. Andrew MacKay, Mr. Henk VanDelft, and Mayor Gil Reeves.
