The Municipality of Huron Shores has prepared a Draft Zoning By-law that sets out land use regulations for all lands within the boundaries of the Municipality. The Zoning By-law establishes different land use zones, lists permitted uses and required standards in each zone, such as building setbacks, parking standards and other provisions.

Due to great public interest, Council is holding an additional Open House and an additional Public Meeting prior to giving consideration to passing the by-law.

The Open House is a come and go information session. The Draft Zoning By-law (text and maps) will be available for review. The Planning Consultant and municipal staff will be available for assistance.

At the Public Meeting, Council will hear representations regarding the Draft Zoning By-law. The Final Draft of the By‑law may be passed after this Public Meeting.

Copies of the Draft By-law are available for review at the Municipal Office at the address listed below between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or on-line at the Municipality’s website Planning Department page.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Huron Shores before the By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Municipality of Huron Shores to the Ontario Municipal Board.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Municipality of Huron Shores before the By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the meeting of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board, unless in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

Any written submission may be given directly to the Clerk/Administrator at the Public Meeting, or mailed to:
