Due to the impact COVID-19 has had on the tourism industry, the Ontario Government is investing $100 million through the new Ontario Tourism Recovery Program to give support to businesses, as well as protecting jobs within the community that rely on tourism. Businesses eligible for funding include:

  • Inns and lodges
  • Boat tours
  • Ski centres
  • Live performance venues
  • Cinemas
  • Drive-in theaters
  • Amusement and water parks.

The Ontario Tourism Recovery Program will support tourism businesses that have experienced a 50 percent or more loss in revenues from 2020-21 compared to 2019. Funding will help prepare businesses for a safe reopening, develop innovative tourism products, retain and create jobs, and support tourism recovery in their region. Applications for the Ontario Tourism Recovery Program opens on October 13, 2021. Please visit Ontario Tourism Recovery Program for a complete list of eligible businesses, activities and application details.
