The Municipality of Huron Shores advises that flows on the Mississagi River are beginning to stabilize, with current discharge rates at the Red Rock Dam approximately 665 cubic metres per second (cms).

A gradual decrease in flows is anticipated over the weekend, with levels expected to decline toward 600 cms and potentially below. While water levels may still fluctuate, current trends suggest that flows are more likely to gradually decrease over the weekend.

The Municipality has been advised that the system continues to manage significant inflows from recent rainfall and spring runoff across a broader watershed. As a result, water levels remain elevated and conditions may still change depending on weather and upstream inputs.

Areas along the Mississagi River, including Mississagi Crescent, as well as Bright Lake, the Bolton River, and other low-lying areas throughout the municipality, remain particularly sensitive to elevated water levels.

Residents and property owners are encouraged to continue monitoring conditions and maintaining precautions to protect property and ensure personal safety.

At this time:

  • Portions of Mississagi Crescent, Bolton River Road, and Cameron Road remain closed due to high water
  • Localized flooding of low-lying areas and yards continues to be observed
  • Public Works crews are actively monitoring conditions and responding as required

The Municipality will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions evolve.

Residents are encouraged to follow updates from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and other agencies for broader flood messaging, as weather conditions may continue to impact water levels.
