Public Advisory – Weather Conditions and Flood Preparedness The Municipality of Huron Shores is advising residents that significant rainfall combined with ongoing snowmelt is expected in the coming days. These conditions may increase the risk of localized flooding, water pooling, and rapidly changing road conditions. Residents are asked to please be patient as municipal staff monitor conditions and respond where required. Public Works crews will be working to address any issues as quickly and safely as possible. Based on guidance from Government of Canada, residents are encouraged to take proactive steps to reduce potential impacts from flooding: Ensure sump pumps are functioning properly Move valuable items and important documents out of basements or low-lying areas Prepare an emergency kit with essentials such as water, food, medications, and flashlights Have a household emergency plan in place Residents are also reminded to: Avoid driving through flooded areas Stay away from fast-moving water and washed-out roads Monitor local weather alerts and municipal updates Flooding can occur quickly and conditions may change rapidly.
