TAKE NOTICE that tenders are invited for the purchase of the lands described below and will be received until 4:00 p.m. local time on June 9, 2021 at the Municipal Office, Municipality of Huron Shores, P.O. Box 460, 7 Bridge Street, Iron Bridge, Ontario P0R 1H0.

The tenders will be opened during the public portion of the Regular Meeting of Council held on June 9, 2021 (via ZOOM) at the Municipality of Huron Shores, 7 Bridge Street, Iron Bridge, Ontario P0R 1H0 at 7:00 p.m.

This sale is governed by Municipal By-law #15-01 in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001.

Tenders MUST BE submitted in the prescribed form and must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a bank draft or cheque certified by a bank or trust corporation payable to the Corporation of the Municipality of Huron Shores and representing at least 20 per cent of the tender amount. Tenders must be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the Municipality of Huron Shores and clearly marked” Tender for Surplus Lands” and must contain the FILE NUMBER on the envelope. The envelope must also clearly show the address and name of the applicant.

The municipality makes no representation regarding the title to or any other matters relating to the land to be sold. Surplus land is sold “as is”.

Information regarding the zoning designation can be obtained from the Municipal Office.

In addition to the purchase price, the successful purchaser shall be responsible for all municipal costs incurred or required to dispose of the property with the exception of advertising and appraisal costs.  The costs include, but are not limited to encumbrances, legal fees, survey costs, if applicable, and land transfer costs.

This sale is subject to Harmonized Sales Tax (H.S.T.) and such H.S.T. shall be in addition to and not included in the tender amount (purchase price). H.S.T. shall be collected and remitted in accordance with applicable legislation.

The highest or any offer may not necessarily be accepted and Council may defer the decision until a later date.
