The Ministry of Natural Resources has declared a FIRE RESTRICTION ZONE for the Northeast Region of Ontario effective at 12:01 a.m., May 16, 2012 until further notice.
The following information is taken from the MNR’s web page regarding Restricted Fire Zones:
A Restricted Fire Zone does not restrict movement or recreational activity in the forest, but it does restrict the use of fire. After a Restricted Fire Zone has been declared, it is illegal to set out a fire for any purpose within the affected area, and failure to comply could result in a fine up to $1,000, three months in jail, and financial responsibility for any costs incurred in fighting a forest fire caused by the illegal act.

The Municipality of Huron Shores is accepting applications for the following summer employment positions:
Museum Supervisor: Work period from approximately June 4 to September 3, 2012.
Work Location: Iron Bridge Historical Museum, 1 James Street
Student Positions: Work Period from approximately July 3 to August 24, 2012.
To qualify: student applicants must have been registered as a full-time student in the preceding academic year and be intending to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year and be between 15 and 25 years of age.
