Half Load Restrictions in Effect Spring thaw has arrived, and half-load restrictions are now in place on all municipal roads in the Municipality of Huron Shores. During the seasonal spring thaw, roads become too soft to support the weight of fully loaded trucks. To protect our road network and minimize costly repairs, these restrictions are necessary. What are half-load restrictions? They limit heavy vehicles to 5 tonnes per axle to help protect roads from damage during the freeze/thaw cycle. When the ground is soft, roadbeds are more vulnerable — restricting loads reduces costly repairs and keeps our roads safer for everyone. For more information please visit https://511on.ca/list/seasonalloads Exemptions include: Emergency vehicles, school buses, and vehicles with valid permits. Thank you for doing your part to preserve our roads! Read more
