Accounting Assistant
(full-time position with benefit package)

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Treasurer, this position performs a number of diverse clerical activities and data entry such as processing accounts receivables, purchasing, accepting tax payments and issue receipts and statements, Assessment Roll maintenance, and assisting with billing and tax collection efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Grade 12 or an acceptable combination of education and related experience.
  • Completion of the Municipal Accounting and Finance Program and/or Municipal Tax Administration Program preferred;
  • Minimum one (1) year related experience;
  • General knowledge of municipal accounting requirements and practices;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent level of computer literacy;

Hours of Work: 

  • 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Wage: 

  • $22.61
